“If there is a God what is He doing?”
As I sat and read the paper, this is what I thought, “If there is a God what is He doing? What’s with the sickness, the floods, the wars, the pain, the stress, the poverty, the hunger? If there is a God, and if He cares like the spiritualists tell me, He should sure be sleeping. Else he won’t let us get so…STUCK!!”
Just look at our generation self-obsessed, greedy, pleasure-seeking, thoughtless, mercy less and emotion less. Probably you my friends who are reading this would disagree, but lay back and think, we do what we do, we do it for ourselves. We study for our future, we work for our salary, we live for our glory, and we die for our glory. “Why God? If you are there, Why have you let us get here, why have you let us become like this? Why have I become the seeker of “I-Pods, I-Pads, I-Life and I-Glory? Why God!!!”
I rambled on in my thoughts, I looked at my life, I looked the lives of my friends searching a sign of God, I looked at outside the window, looked at people in the streets, but still, I saw brothers fighting, kids crying, families dying, I saw men faking it for women, women faking it for men. “If there’s a God, where is He?”
Probably the scientologists are right the only things that exist are the things that we see. “Probably there is no God; else wouldn’t He set right what He has created?”
Then again I think “Do I believe only in the things I see?”, and the answer is “NO!!!” I believe in air, I can only feel it, I believe in something called “love” even that I can only feel and I believe in an emotion called “trust”, which I can’t even feel.
Just then I remembered a phrase “Doubting Thomas”…was I being one probably yes…what did Jesus say to Thomas “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” This is faith…that we love Him, trust Him, because He loved us and trusted us when we weren’t even alive.
God is there, He is very much in control, and all the troubles around us is not because God does not care, but humanity has stopped caring about God. And all this is His will, so that we seek Him and not forget about Him.

ReplyDeleteTaking from this sentence, I would say that what God created the physical world, the scientific rules, the conscience, capacity for love, joy and beauty..all of this is very much present.
However, we in our sinfulness have corrupted the fine creations of God.
And the truth is that He has set it right! In Christ Jesus and His sacrifice..Now, if we choose not to accept that then our blood and fate is in our own hands.
